Suburbs of the Hills District

Also known as the Hills Shire, The Hills District is an area of Sydney in the state of New South Wales. It is strategically located in the Greater Western Sydney, and plays home to all suburbs located in the west including;

Annangrove- This suburb is located 42 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD, forming part of the local government area of the Hills District region and the Hills Shire. According to the 2016 census, Annangrove has a population of 1,397 people.

Arcadia- this is a semi-rural suburb of Sydney situated 42 kilometres northwest of Sydney CBD. It lies in the local government of the Hornsby Shire, and has a population of 1,385 people.

Baulkham Hills- this suburb is located 27km northwest of the Sydney CBD, and lies in the local government area of the Hills Shire. It has a population of 37, 050 people according to the 2016 census.

Bella Vista- the suburb is located 33kms northwest of the Sydney CBD in the local government area of the Hills Shire. It has a population of 7,837.

Beaumont Hills– it is located 40 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD, and forms part of the Greater Western Region of the Hills District. It lies in the local government area of the Hills Shire and has a population of 9, 042.

Berrilee- this is a semi-rural suburb of Sydney located 38 kilometres north of Sydney CBD, it lies in the local government of Hornsby Shire and has a population of 224 people according to the 2016 census.

Box Hill- the suburb is located 42 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD and lies in the local government area of the Hills Shire. It has a population of 902 people.

Carlingford- located 22 kilometres northwest of the Sydney CBD, this suburb lies in the local government area of the city of Parramatta. According to the 2016 census, it has a population of 24,396.

Castle Hill- this is doubtlessly one of the most renowned suburbs of Sydney, which is located 24 kilometres north-west of Sydney CBD, and nine and a half kilometres north of Parramatta. It is shared by the local government areas of Hornsby Shire and Hills Shire.

Cattai- it is known as the historical suburb of Sydney, which is located 44 kilometres north-west of Sydney CBD and 30 kilometres northwest of Parramatta. It is shared by the local government areas of City of Hawkesbury and the Hills Shire. It has a population of 790 people.

Cherrybrook- this suburb is located 27 kilometres north-west of Sydney CBD, in the local government area of Hornsby Shire.  According to the 2016 census, it has a total population of 18,765 people.

Dural- located 36 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD, Dural is one of the most vibrant and fast-growing suburbs of Sydney. It is situated in the local government areas of the Hills Shire and Hornsby Shire and has a population of 7,570 people.

Fiddletown- this is a semi-rural suburb of Sydney which is located 39 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of Hornsby Shire. It has a population of 243 people.

Kellyville- the suburb is located 36 kilometres from the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of the Hills Shire. According to the 2016 census, it has a total population of 27,971.

North Kellyville- it is located 37 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD in the local government area of the Hills Shire. It was established in 2018.

West Pennant Hills- located in the northern suburbs of Sydney, west pennant Hills is one of the fastest-growing suburbs in the Hills District. It is located 24 kilometres north-west of Sydney CBD, and has a population of 16, 374. It lies in the local government area of Hornsby Shire.

Winston Hills- this suburb is situated 28 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD, and lies in the local government area of the City of Parramatta and part of it in the Hornsby Shire. It has a population of 11,674.

South Maroota- it is found 72 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD in the local government of the Hills Shire. It also lies strategically along the Hawkesbury River, and has a population of 507 according to the 2011 census.

Glenhaven– this is a semi-rural suburb situated 32 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD in the local governments if the Hornsby shire and the Hills Shire. It has a population of 6,501.

Glenorie- this is a rural suburb situated 44 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD in the local government areas of Hornsby Shire and the Hills Shire. It has a population of 3,497 according to the 2016 census.

Oatlands- this suburb is located in the local government area of the city of Parramatta, 23 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. It has a population of 5,660 according to the 2016 census.

Kenthurst- this suburb is located in the local government area of the Hills Shire, and 39 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD. It has a population of 5,037.
